“Where there is no vision, the people perish”
Proverbs 29:18
This is a pretty clear statement. Without the hope of a future, we are just mindless wanderers without a handrail to lead us home. A lack of vision opens the door to wasteful distractions and death-bringing temptations. Having our eyes set forward on God-ordained visions and goals will bring life and fruitfulness to our labor. Bottom-line, if you don’t know where you’re going, you’re heading in the wrong direction.
So it is clear, you either get vision or death. We choose vision. In light of this Proverb, we are pressing pause on our normal prayer outline just for this month and will instead pray for specific goals and visions of our local staff leaders for our ministries in Mongolia and Nicaragua. We praise God for the vision of a better future for every aspect of our ministries. Let’s pray through these dreams with our leaders and ask God to turn them into reality.
WEGO Staff
How You Can Pray:
1) Please be praying for a year of spiritual development and renewal for each of our incredible staff members!
2) Pray that we can also provide many opportunities for skill development and career equipping, as well. We pray to be able to put great ministry tools in the hands of our staff as they labor for God’s Kingdom to be built.
3) Please be praying for the daily protection of our staff and their families – that God will be a Shield around them.
4) Pray for deep unity and like-mindless between every staff member.
New Hope Children’s Home – Mongolia
How You Can Pray:
1) Please be praying for the deep spiritual needs of each of our children in the home. Pray that God will use our ministry to bring great healing to the wounds they have experienced in their young lives.
2) Pray for the building plans and process as we look to design, construct, and fund a new home for our kids that is safe, warm, and spacious.
3) Pray that we might find new ways to not only continue to care for the physical needs (shelter, food, etc) of these beautiful children but that we might also help develop them into followers of Jesus who proclaim His goodness in every area of their lives, families, and careers as adults.
House Church – Mongolia
How You Can Pray:
1) Please be praying that our leaders and church members are led to new and creative ways to engage our community with the Gospel.
2) Pray for the salvation of the families of our church members. We pray that 2019 is a year when many people turn to Jesus through the faithful prayers of family members.
3) Pray that the lives and love of our church members might “abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight”.
New Hope School – Nicaragua
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray for the teachers to have new opportunities to be equipped and trained on how to best educate our students and use their classrooms to make disciples.
2) Pray that we will be able to introduce new technologies into our school to better assist the learning environment. Specifically, for us to be able to run internet into our ministry building which has been a logistical difficulty in the past.
3) To offer English education to the parents, kids, teachers, and others within our community.
4) Pray for opportunities for our school to be involved in new competitions with other schools – math, sports, and other activities.
5) We would love to offer a spiritual retreat for the students twice a year.
6) Please pray that we will be able to best prepare the seniors for life after graduation.
Feeding Program – Nicaragua
How You Can Pray:
1) Our main goal is to keep working with the kid’s spiritual lives. If we keep doing that I am sure that the parents will come to Jesus through their kids.
2) We want to focus on the kid’s nutrition. In the community we have 11 kids with low weight so we really want them to gain weight in 2019.
3) Please pray for more consistency in the kids attendance. This is crucial for their physical health.
4) I pray that the Lord will keep blessing WEGO so we can keep working here.
Bible Club – Nicaragua
How You Can Pray:
1) Our goal is to share the Gospel with all of the kids so they can go home to share what they have learned about Jesus. We want their parents to also know the Lord.
2) I am hoping we can have more kids in our Bible club in 2019 so we can win more souls for the Lord.
3) Pray with us to train the kids with individual spiritual skills through the Bible Club activities.
4) Pray for more wisdom, understanding, love, and respect between all who are working for and teaching the kids in our community because we are together building a Gospel foundation for their lives.
Guards & Farm – Nicaragua
How You Can Pray:
1) Please pray for the spiritual development and discipleship of our guards. This is one of our most important goals for 2019.
2) I pray that maybe next year WEGO can fix the guard’s shelter or maybe rebuild it.
3) I want to grow more plantains to be able to sell them. That will help the ministry economically.
4) I also think it would be a great idea to build a fence around the citrus trees to protect them from pests.
