WEGO’s ministry in Nicaragua started in 2001 in the rural community of Roman Esteban, Jinotepe. We are currently serving the community through a school and community center. We get to employ, empower, and serve alongside of 22 local Nicaraguans in this great work.

New Hope School

We run a Christian School for 100 students between 7th-11th grade. Each student is provided lunch and a free education that includes English and Bible classes. Almost every child in our community will be served through New Hope School. Many of them will also become the very first high school graduate in their family.

God of Hope Community Center

Feeding Program
We have partnered with ORPHANetwork to serve lunch 5 days a week to 250 toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary age children in the Roman Esteban community. Food is made each day at the community center by volunteer moms before it is transported to the children.

Bible Club
We have weekly gatherings for children to learn about Jesus through music, bible stories, and through activities that promote healthy habits and spiritual growth.

New Moms Club
We have nutrition, birthing classes, infant care, and fellowship for new moms in our community.

After-School Tutoring
Elementary students are transported to our property 5 days a week to receive extra support with a variety of school subjects. Just a few minutes in, you’ll quickly learn the kids are really showing up because they’re having a lot of fun!
