About Aaya:
I have been working with WEGO since 2005. As the home director, I lead and manage everything at the home. For the children, that includes taking care of their health needs, helping them study, feeding them, and clothing them. I meet with the school teachers, parents or caregivers, doctors, and government office staff to discuss the children and handle the organizational documents. I participate in training held by the Child and Family Development Center or other organizations. I also handle the budgeting, purchasing, and reporting requirements for the home. I manage all repairs and maintenance. For the staff, I recruit new staff, handle the contracts and staff supervision, and manage and provide roles and rules. In addition, I do payroll, and keep up the social insurance and income tax registration and payment. I also oversee reconciliation and problem solving, and have weekly, quarterly, and yearly meetings. The part of my job that I love most is seeing changes in a child’s life, celebrating a child’s birthday, making a child’s favorite food and eating together, and playing fun games and seeing smiles on the children’s faces.
I attend a house church at the WEGO property which is led by my husband, Purevsed (Puje). I serve by sharing Bible verses for encouragement, I lead the offering time, and I share experiences with other women. My favorite Bible verses are 2 Timothy 2:23 – “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.” and Philippians 2:3-5 – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”
I have four children and five grandchildren. Three of the children live on their own. My hobbies are cleaning my home, cooking, watching comedy movies, and having fun times with the children and going to the countryside together.
What makes me happiest is to see the children happy and healthy, including my own children. Pray for wisdom for me; I always thank God that He is with me to lead everything at New Hope Children’s Home.
