WEGO Prayer Guide – October 2025

By Zach Dodd, WEGO Director

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”
-Philippians 1:4-5

In the long, winding road of Paul’s ministry, he found joy in never traveling alone. This ‘partnership in the gospel’ he experienced with God’s people in Philippi became not just a source of practical assistance for the apostle but of actual happiness. Koinonia, the Greek word for partnership, means more than just a business affiliation. It’s a shared fellowship and communal togetherness with others. In other words, Koinonia is the we in WEGO. No wonder the Triune God put community at the center of mission. Jesus had his disciples, Adam had Eve, and Abraham had his many sons. I mean, even the Lone Ranger had Tonto, right?!

In your pursuit of answering God’s call upon your life to make disciples and care for our hurting world, we want to make sure you aren’t alone either.

This is why we are excited to have James Repp join our WEGO USA team as our first-ever Communications Director. Certainly, his appointment doubles our current staff of one and brings me much-needed help and ministry partnership. But much more, the purpose of his role is to better connect you, our WEGO family of donors and church partners, to our shared mission of sharing Jesus and showing His love to vulnerable kids around the world. It might look like emails, newsletters, storytelling, events, or fundraising campaigns, but these are just means to an end. His real call is to strengthen your partnership in the gospel with us and join you in fulfilling your call as a follower of Jesus. As an experienced missionary to Japan, a former pastor, and a current church elder, I know he will be a great guide.

Take a moment and hear from James:
“When I first sat down to write, I was intent on introducing myself. But, as I wrote, I realized that this is who I am, this is my heart: I want to provide opportunities for you to join with us in the work of telling others about Jesus. My wife, Joyce, and I have been married for 31 years and have two adult children. For most of our lives, we have sought, by God’s grace, to pour our lives out for the proclamation of the gospel.
I invite you to join with me in the mission of sharing Jesus with the world.”

For 31 years, WEGO has been a place where sacrificial and adventurous followers of Jesus jump in and get involved in God’s global work. Join me in praying for James Repp this month as he steps out in faith to continue this great legacy.

How You Can Pray

From James:
I am confident, as I begin to fundraise for my personal support, that God will supply all that is needed to serve WEGO in this role. Because of this trust in God, I would ask you to pray with me:

1) That God would lead individual families to come alongside us in monthly financial support.
2) Pray for our adult children that they would remember the good news of Jesus.
3) That as I engage with churches and individual donors on behalf of WEGO, God would grant us grace in fellowship as we labor together.
