“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”
Proverbs 24:3-4
We long for the day, soon-approaching, when our new home is finally built in Mongolia! Surely the rooms will be filled with rare and beautiful treasures worth more than possessions. Those rooms will be a place of rest, healing, and salvation for kids given a tough lot in life. Our WEGO community has already sacrificed so much to make those new rooms a reality and we want to continue to keep you fully updated on the progress. To be personal, building this new home has been a dream over 12 years in the making for me. To be honest, I grieve that it is not yet built. Yes, because our donors deserve to see the fruit of their sacrifice but, even more, because the kids of New Hope deserve a better place to grow up. God is teaching me to trust His timing and His ways. I know He cares for our kids far more than we do. It is our deepest desire to allow the wisdom of God to build this house in due time and direct our every step along the way. Thank you to all who have joined us on this beautiful journey. We are not quite home yet but we are making our way.

Why We Are Not Building in 2022
As we’ve sought the wisdom of our Mongolian staff and contacts, a 2022 build has been discouraged. We are still dealing with the previous concerns of high material costs due to closed borders, difficulty finding a quality builder, and we have yet to receive our official land certificate as the government moved the process online half-way through. The final nail was learning the road to our property is being paved this summer, making it a challenge to transport materials through the temporary mountain road. With all of these compounding concerns, wisdom tells us to wait.
The New Timeline
It is our full intention to go all in to build our new home starting in 2023. To accomplish this, I will travel to Mongolia this Fall with a small team of people with construction experience to finalize our builder and plans. We will break ground in April and my family will travel to Mongolia from May to August to help oversee the building process. The home should be completed around September.
You’re Invited!
Just imagine a whole trove of WEGO donors, staff, and the children of New Hope standing outside the new home with the biggest smiles the world has ever seen. We have some live music, delicious local fare, and a big red ribbon draping our new front door. We tell some stories, offer up heartfelt prayers of big-time gratitude, and the smallest kid from the home cuts the ribbon! We all go inside, praising God for what He’s done. That’s the day we are working towards and we want you to be a part of it. Please start thinking about joining us in Mongolia next Fall (September or October 2023) for a big GRAND OPENING celebration!
Transparency on Our Current Finances
With much of our fundraising focused on the home build campaign, our available cash to fund our ongoing ministry operations has taken a hit. This is such a challenge – how do we build our kids a much-needed home in the future while also having the money needed to pay for their needs today. In full transparency, we want you to know we need greater help funding our everyday ministries right now. An increase in our operational giving will put us in a much better financial situation to build our new home next year and keep all of our ministries funded for many years to come. To this effect, we will be shifting our public fundraising focus away from the home build campaign (until January 2023) to supporting and funding our current ministries. You can still give towards our home build campaign but we are asking you to first consider helping us keep our ministries funded today.
Our WEGO community has consistently overwhelmed us with generosity as we’ve shared our needs with you. You truly are the best. You can visit wego.org/newhopekids to discover tangible ways you can make a difference in the lives of the children we serve today. Please consider giving a one-time gift or setting up a monthly donation we know we can count on for this important season ahead.
Thank you for taking the time to read this important update! Please email me (zach@wego.org) with any questions.
In faith,
Zach Dodd
