WEGO’s ministry in Nicaragua started in 2001 in the rural community of Roman Esteban, Jinotepe. We have had the privilege of serving this under-resourced neighborhood through an orphanage, a secondary school, a feeding program, a Bible Club, a new mom’s club, and after-school tutoring. 2024 ushered in a new season of ministry with the same focus of giving children and their families every chance to succeed in Jesus.
Bible Clubs
Roman Esteban & Las Colinas Communities
We lead after-school gatherings for children (ages 7-13) five days a week to experience just how loved they are by Jesus through music, bible stories, snacks, and activities that promote healthy habits and spiritual growth. We are so grateful to partner with our host church, Iglesia Getsemani, for ministry in the Roman Esteban community of Jinotepe. Our Bible Club in the Las Colinas community of Diriamba is held every Saturday outside in the neighborhood with the same activities and goal of making Christ known in the hearts of children.
New Hope School Outreach
Since New Hope School became a public institution in 2025, we have continued our efforts to make Christ known among the staff and student body. We are happy to have been granted permission to lead monthly Bible studies on campus. Our local missionary also actively pursues discipleship opportunities with the students outside of school hours as we continue to trail new paths to serve the students, faculty, and families of our beloved New Hope School.
University Scholarships
Although most universities in Nicaragua offer free tuition, the price of books, materials, and transportation is often too costly for many families to bear. We are grateful, through the generosity of our donors, to offer need-based scholarships to the students of New Hope School. The recipients also meet monthly for a personal and academic check-in along with a Bible study with our local missionary.
