by Aaron White, WEGO Storyteller
“Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock. For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.”
Isaiah 26:4–6
God’s measure of value seems totally inverted when compared to the world’s. We want to build it bigger, God tears it down or keeps it small. We hope for more money, God turns His face to the poor. We spend our lives working to be self-sufficient, and God exalts the needy.
We can become distracted from looking to Christ in faith. We get enamored with success and discouraged by a lack of progress. But God is unconcerned with the to-do lists and expectations we have for ourselves and the things with which we’re involved. His concern? That we rest in the grace He has provided in Christ and trust Him in all things.
So as we pray this month for our brothers and sisters below, ask that God would help us to pray expectantly, trusting Him wholly with the results. Ask that He would turn our measure for success inside out. He is our everlasting rock, and all of our plans and hopes find their worth in Him.
Join Us in Praying for Our Home Build!
This month we’re praying for the girl’s bathroom. This will be the first time the girls in our home will have their own bathroom. Read that again. “Excited” is an understatement.
How You Can Pray
Will you pray for who the girls see in their bathroom mirror? May they find all beauty, strength, and confidence in who Jesus says they are.

The people are so kind and sweet. More importantly, we can talk about God with our students (something we can’t do at every school). I would also like to share that in my free time I work dressing up as a clown with my kids. We all get dressed up and entertain at birthday parties. That’s another way we earn a living, I really enjoy it. I love the food that this school provides our students. My favorite is the rice with chicken.”
