By Zach Dodd, Director of WEGO
As this battle wages on in Ukraine, I am reminded of King Jehoshaphat’s plea to God during Judah’s impending threat of impossible war in 2 Chronicles 20:12b, “‘We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you”. I imagine that is how many Ukrainians feel right now. I know that is how I feel. We grieve with every video and photo posted. We hear the stories of young victims, courageous civilians turned soldiers, and inspiring leaders stepping up to the moment. We have been in constant contact with WEGO’s local missionary in Ukraine and simply cannot fathom what he and his countrymen are facing right now. Sergei lives 100 miles from the capital city where the majority of the conflict is taking place. Missiles have taken lives and destroyed buildings in his city but he and his family have remained safe.
Just like Jehoshaphat, we don’t know what to do. How can we possibly help? We turn our eyes to the Maker of heaven and earth, who holds the whole world in His Hands. Please join us this month in desperately seeking God on behalf of those affected by this battle and for the churches, staff, and kids in our ministries who are facing many challenges of their own.
How to Pray for Ukraine
1) From Sergei: ‘Pray for our soldiers in battle and for the safety of our citizens from rockets’.
2) Please pray for the churches of Ukraine to be protected and united to serve during this crisis.
3) Pray 2 Chronicles 20:12b for all Ukrainians. May their eyes and hearts be on God alone.
4) Please be praying for WEGO’s founder, Marc Ivanchak. He and his wife, Beth, have traveled to Hungary to serve Ukrainians and coordinate aid at the border.

Laura Perez – Language and Literature, Nicaragua
From Laura:
“I am 38 years old, and live in Diriamba. I am married, my husband is 40 years old and works as a driver. We have been married for 8 years now. We attend a pentecostal church that is located in Diriamba. I have been working here for 2 months now and I have been enjoying it. It’s just that the people here are so kind. What I love the most is that we can hear the word of God and the kids are learning about the Bible. In some schools around here we can’t teach the Bible, so it’s a big privilege to do it here. I love the food I eat here. I also want to share that I don’t have kids. I’ve been praying hard that one day I can be a mom, with God’s help I know I will.”
How You Can Pray:
1) That she would be able to be a mom one day.
2) For her spiritual growth.
3) That her family will be healthy.

2) That she would study well in school.
3) Pray she would have opportunities to be a cook in the future.
