By Aaya, Children’s Home Director
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 15:1-6
This passage tells us that everything written in the Word of God was written to teach us. Isn’t that encouraging? God gave us His word so that we could understand Him. Therefore, we have to read His word daily.
Join Us in Praying for Our Home Build!
This month we’re praying for the boy’s bathroom. Our current home has major septic issues that force our children to frequently use an outhouse. They will now be able to use working toilets year-round.
How You Can Pray
Pray for who the boys see in their bathroom mirror. May their entire identity be wrapped up in Jesus and His voice.

3) Pray that the leaders and members of Tower Church would be strong in faith.
4) Pray that God would open the hearts of their community to the Gospel.
Libano Principe de Paz Church – Nicaragua
From Pastor Oswaldo Aburto:
“I am 49 and my wife is 38. We have been serving the Lord together for 20 years. We live with our two kids in Jinotepe, where the church is as well. We do services in the street and sometimes in our members’ homes–there are 30 members and 3 services every week. We also do weekly home visits where we share the Gospel. I love what I do. I don’t do it as a job–we all have the call to talk about the good news. It is our calling as Christians to share about Jesus’ life on earth and what He did on the cross for our sins. We are living in the last days and we should all think upon and place our eyes and heart on His word. I thank you all for praying for churches in Nicaragua, we do the same for all the churches there, too. We love you all.”
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray God would give Oswaldo wisdom to lead his congregation.
2) Pray God would grow the faith of the members of Libano Principe de Paz.
3) Pray that God would ready His people for the return of Christ, and remind them all of the urgency of the Gospel.
Javzandolgor – Herder/Firemaker, Mongolia
About Javzandolgor:
Javzandolgor is the beating heart of New Hope Children’s Home. She is in charge of keeping the furnaces roaring so the children stay warm in winter, raising livestock and vegetables to help feed our kids and caretakers, and bringing water from the well so the home’s plumbing will work. Without her, none of the homework, playtime, conversations or care could happen. She has three children of her own, and lives with her youngest. In her free time she enjoys sewing and helping others, something we witness daily.
How You Can Pray:
1) She is planning to have some dental work done, so pray that God allows it to go smoothly.
2) Pray that God would lead Mongolia and the rest of the world out of the pandemic.
3) Pray God would provide opportunity for her to move to the countryside after the pandemic is over.
Hannah Ortiz – WEGO’s New Staff Member, Nicaragua
From Hannah:
“I am 23 years old and I am new here. I live in Dirimbia at the community Carlos Mendez. I am not married, but I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 2 years now. I live in my mom’s house with my youngest brother. She is 53 and retired, and has one leg amputated. I also have more brothers who help my mom financially. I moved from Jinotega where I went to a church called Vida Abundante, but since I just moved I’m still looking for a church to attend. At school I teach child development for 2nd through 4th grade. Working with the kids is so enjoyable because they’re so smart and dynamic. I also love the Chinese rice the ladies cook here.”
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that God would provide a way for my boyfriend and I to get married this year.
2) Pray that God would guide my plans as I work toward my goal of owning a business one day.
3) Pray that I would have an opportunity to finish my postgraduate degree in human resources management.
Azaa – New Hope Children’s Home, Mongolia
About Azaa:
Azaa has one of the biggest hearts of any young man you could meet. He is 14 years old, but he doesn’t brush away the younger children when they want to spend time with him. At school he enjoys math, but he loves playing basketball, cards, and a traditional Mongolian game (played with anklebones, sort of like jacks) in his free time. One day he hopes to become the president of Mongolia.
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that God would bless Azaa’s family.
2) Pray that the pandemic would be brought to an end.
3) Pray that God would help him to pursue his dream for the future.

“I am 16 and a junior in high school. I live with my mom in Jinotepe–my dad doesn’t live with us anymore. My mom’s name is Maryi, and she is a stay at home mom. I also have two sisters and a brother that live with my dad. We go to Hosanna Church together, where I play drums. I enjoy watching tv and social media, and hanging out with my friends. At school my favorite subjects are language and literature. I love eating the Chinese rice here as well. When I graduate I want to be a doctor because it will be a responsible job and I can help others.”
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that I can finish school with good grades.
2) Pray that God would help my family to get along and enjoy one another.
3) I don’t want to walk away from God. Pray that He keeps me and shows me how to follow Him.
