By James Repp, WEGO Operations Director
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:13-14
We traveled as a team of fathers, along with two daughters (Vivi and Katy were amazing!) to Nicaragua this month. What an amazing trip! As I write this, it was only a week ago that I got to meet a wonderful family there. This is the same family featured in the May Prayer Guide. The family had invited us to lunch at their home. They welcomed us as family. Their warm generosity spoke good news to my soul. The father of the family, Benjamin, is a quiet man who cares deeply for his family.
My inability to speak Spanish, in addition to my own quiet nature, may have kept us from sharing very many words with one another. But I felt connected to him as a brother in Christ and as a fellow father. The two sons of the family, Roberto and Jasir, are both wonderful young men who love Jesus, and it shows in how they live their lives.
The next day, we visited another family, whose son, Donald, was recently in a bad motorcycle accident. I know many of you prayed for Donald a few weeks ago. He is recovering extremely well. We didn’t know what to expect on our way to visit him. But he was up and interacting with us almost as if he hadn’t just had brain surgery. The gratitude of his father, Donald Sr., toward God for the grace in his son’s life was beautiful to see.
These two fathers ministered greatly to me. Their love for their families and faith in our Heavenly Father bolstered my faith and dependence upon him as well.
We held a pastors and church leaders conference the following two evenings. The first night, Zach spoke on personal devotions, and I had the joy of teaching on pastoral counseling from God’s Word. The second night, Jimmy spoke on being attentive to God’s voice and being used by God, and Joel spoke on preaching from God’s Word. It was a blessing to minister to these pastors who are, in a real sense, fathers to their communities. Join with us in praying for Nicaragua…
Let's Pray Together
Pray for Benjamin and Donald Sr.
How You Can Pray:
1) Pray for these fathers (Benjamin and Donald Sr.) and their families with me.
2) Pray that God’s grace will bear much fruit in their lives.
Pray for the Reading Club – Pilot Program
1) Ask God to give endurance for the students.
3) Pray for new opportunities for the gospel.
Pray for the Graduates
1) Pray for this past year’s New Hope School graduates as they enter into college and working life.
2) Pray that God will lead them to leverage their lives for God’s glory.
Pray for the Guadelupe Bible Club
1) Pray for the new ministry at the landfill in the Guadelupe community. We host a Bible Club twice a week, and Miriam also takes food there once a month.
2) Please pray with us as we seek God for how to best serve this community and point them to the good news of Jesus.
Pray for the Pastors in the Roman Esteben Community
1) Pray for those who attended the pastor and church leaders’ conference. We had about 50 attendees each night.
2) My prayer is that they were encouraged to lean on God and His Word as they minister in both preaching and as they counsel those in their congregations.

From Zach:
I wanted to take a quick moment to say ‘THANK YOU’ to those who are supporting the work of WEGO through James. In his short-time with us, he has not only transformed our crucial behind-the-scenes operations, but he has also been a God-sent gift to me (and now our friends in Nicaragua!). The work of WEGO is beautiful, but it can also be hard. I’m beyond grateful to have a brother like James serving, leading, and relying on God with me.
If you are looking for a way to join this work, I can’t think of a better way than partnering with James through giving. Yes, your one-time or monthly designated gift will support him. But, in turn, it will also support every single facet of our ministry on four continents. Simply put, we can’t do what we do without James, and James can’t do what he does without you!
