WEGO Prayer Guide – November 2021

By Aaron White, WEGO Storyteller

“In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed me that I came from God.”
John 16:26-27

Restored access to God is what believing in Christ is all about. We started out as enemies, but thanks to Jesus’s death and resurrection, we’re adopted into the family, and that means when we pray we can be sure our Father himself is listening.

That’s the beauty of prayer. Sin put man and God out of joint, but in Christ the relationship is restored to working order. Prayer is then an earthly return to Eden, a picture of the intimacy with God we will one day have in heaven. It’s an invitation from God to spend time with Him and get in on His plans.

This month, we’re asking you to take God up on the invitation. Come boldly before the Father with us and ask that Christ be glorified in these ministries as well as your own life. Take the concerns of your brothers and sisters before him. Enjoy the intimacy to be found in prayer, remembering that the Father himself loves you!

Join Us in Praying for Our Home Build!

Please join us this week in praying for the dining room of the new children’s home. Almost every child comes into our home malnourished. You just can’t imagine what a table full of warm food looks like through their eyes.

How You Can Pray
Pray for the conversations that will happen around our new table. Pray each bite of food will be a glimpse into Christ’s love and care for them.

Baptist Church – Nicaragua

From Pastor Esteban Acuña:
“Hello everyone! I am 60 years old and I live in the north of Nicaragua. My wife Annet and I have 2 kids who each have their own family. We have 3 grandchildren. We love them so much. They come to visit once a week. There are 34 members who attend the church. We visit homes once a week, and every month four souls come to the Lord. I am so excited about what the Lord is doing and will keep doing. We have been working with the youth who live on the streets. We’re praying hard we can rescue them through the word of God. Thank you all for praying for us. We do the same here for all of you.”

How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that our congregation would see spiritual growth as they seek Christ.
2) Pray that God would provide for struggling families in our community.

Javzandolgor – Herder/Firestarter, Mongolia

About Javzandolgor:
Javzandolgor keeps the Children’s Home running year round. She’s the one bringing water to the homes from the well on the property, and she’s the one up before the sun, stoking the furnace in the wintertime. She’s also the one taking care of the livestock and chopping the firewood. We’re so grateful for all that she does, and for her heart for the Lord. She leads by example with joy.

How You Can Pray:
1) Javzandolgor recently came down with COVID. Pray that she will have a swift recovery and no lasting physical effects.
2) Pray for her son’s work and future. Ask God to give him faith to lean on Christ when the future is unclear.
3) Pray that Javzandolgor will know even more the depth of love Christ has for her.

Gary Nicoya – Reinforcement Teacher, Nicaragua

From Gary:
I am 22 years old and I’ve been working here for 3 months now. I live with my mom and dad. My dad is 61 years old and a pastor, my mom is 62. She’s a stay at home mom. I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and all of them have their own families and kids. I have enjoyed the time at New Hope School. Everyone is so friendly and kind. What I’ve learned in the short time I’ve been here is that God is central even to our jobs, and that if we put God first in everything our faith will grow. One thing I love about this ministry is the focus on helping people. I help the kids from the feeding program and Bible Club to improve in their classes. I also visit their homes, just to get to know them and how they live. Also, the food the ladies cook here is delicious.”

How You Can Pray:
1) Pray God would keep me healthy.
2) Pray that God would provide for me.
3) Pray that I would succeed in helping and ministering to these kids while I work.

Ariuka – New Hope Children’s Home, Mongolia

About Ariuka:
Ariuka came to New Hope Children’s Home a few years ago. She has won the hearts of many during her time with us, but now a local Christian family has fallen in love with her as well and will be adopting her soon. We are so happy for Ariuka. Pray for her requests with us and praise God for his providence.

How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that the adoption process would be seamless and that she and her future family will be united soon.
2) Pray that God would help her with her studies.
3) Pray that God would keep her healthy.

Einer Lacayo – New Hope School, Nicaragua

From Einer:
“I am 17 years old and I’ve gone to school here for five years. This is my last year because I’m graduating in December. I’m so excited. I live with my mom and dad, Maria and Jose. I also have a 12 year old sister named Ashly. We live in our own home. My Dad is a farmer and my mom is a stay at home mom. I would love to study to be an automotive electrician or a farmer to be able to help my Dad. In my free time I love playing Payback 2. I also enjoy math and studying. I really love all my teachers, I’ve learned so much from them. Now I know so much more about my salvation. I will do my best to apply all I’ve learned all these past years to my life. I also love the Chinese rice that the ladies cook.”

How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that God would stop the pandemic.
2) Pray for my future as I look for a job after graduation.
3) Pray that God will keep my family safe and healthy.
