By Jeremiah Fyffe, Lead Pastor of CrossPointe Coast
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.”
Titus 2:11–12
The grace of God does many things in this passage. It has appeared. It has brought salvation. It is training us. We can’t understand what grace has done until we first acknowledge and rejoice in what it means that grace has appeared. Grace appeared in the person and work of Jesus Christ: his humble incarnation, his perfect righteousness, his suffering obedience, his sacrificial death, his victorious resurrection, his sovereign reign and the hope of his glorious return. Indeed, as we pray this month, we can pray as those who have seen grace appear!
From the foundation of grace appearing, we may renounce ungodliness and live godly lives. Let me suggest that one of the most significant results of our salvation is the realization that we have a God!
Godliness is nothing less than to live our lives in light of his glory and righteousness and justice and salvation. The Lord is God, and he is the God of grace.
Now we turn to pray. Let us pray in the knowledge that our God is the God. He is the God of all peoples and the Name above every name. When we pray for the people and the mission and the church in Nicaragua and Mongolia, we must pray a godly prayer. That is, we must pray knowing that the Lord is the sovereign God whose grace is at work in each of these places and each of these hearts to bring salvation and to train us to live in light of his grace.
Join Us in Praying for Our Home Build!
This week, we launched our Love Squared fundraiser for a new home for our kids at New Hope Children’s Home. As we fund the new build square foot by square foot, room by room, we’d like you to join with us in praying for the ministry of New Hope Children’s Home room by room. This week, we’ll be praying over the entryway to our home. In frozen tundras, enclosed entryways are just as important as bathrooms. This room is where shoes are kept and how the cold is kept outside.
How You Can Pray:
We long for our home to not just be a shelter but a launching pad for missionaries. Pray Isaiah 52:7, that beautiful feet walk out these doors to proclaim peace and salvation.

Their ministry vision is that God would bring whole families to Christ through individuals.
How You Can Pray:
1) That God would provide opportunity for them to purchase the land the church is on.
2) That God would grow their church spiritually and use them to bring new families to Christ.
3) That God would provide for the church financially.
Baptist Church Avance Missionero – Nicaragua
From Pastor Carlos Lopez Moya:
“I am 57 years old. My wife’s name is Juana Quezada, and together we have a grown daughter and son each with their own families. I have one grandson who is 10. I want to ask for special prayers for me and my wife. I’ve been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and some other complications, and my wife has the coronavirus. She is not well, so she hasn’t been home with me. My son comes to take care of me, occasionally. Our church is closed down for now, but our members come often to pray for me. I give the glory to God during this hard time.”
How You Can Pray:
1) That God would heal my wife of the virus without complications.
2) That God would heal me of my Parkinson’s and give my body strength.
3) That God would guide all the churches in Nicaragua during these hard times.
Dulmaa – Caretaker, Mongolia
About Dulmaa:
Dulmaa is a mother to all she meets, always passing on the affection and joy she has in Christ to others. That’s one reason we’re grateful for the twelve years she’s spent as a caregiver with New Hope Children’s Home. Her favorite pastime is to talk with others and listen to their stories, and she has a few good stories to tell of her own. This month she is officially retiring, and we couldn’t say thank you enough for all the ways she’s poured her heart out for our kids.
How You Can Pray:
1) That God would heal her knee and provide opportunity for her to get surgery.
2) That God would help her husband and children to grow in Christ.
3) That God would grow her faith in Christ as she moves into this new phase of life.
Raquel Chavez – Feeding Program Director, Nicaragua
From Raquel:
“I am 36 years old and have been working for WEGO for 15 years now. It has been awesome and a blessing. I have one boy and a girl, and I’m so blessed to say that I am pregnant again. I‘m 5 months along now and so excited. It’s going to be a girl and my due date is in November, God willing. My husband Jordany is so excited about his baby. We are so happy. The coronavirus looks like it will be around for awhile, so we must pray and take care of ourselves. I am taking all the recommendations for me and my baby. The feeding programs are running well. The kids are now attending school and taking their food home. We are so thankful that none of our feeding program kids are sick, but we are praying for those who are. All is running as it should.”
How You Can Pray:
1) That God would protect all of us who work for WEGO.
2) That God would give me a smooth and healthy pregnancy.
3) That God will accomplish His purpose in the pandemic and guide us all through it.
