WEGO Prayer Guide – November 2020

By Joel Fair, Pastor of CrossPointe Coast Cape

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14

In the midst of a pronouncement of judgement and woe to a wayward and rebellious people, the prophet Habakkuk gives us this vision of heaven. This is the comparison the prophet is making, the earth will be filled with knowledge the same way the sea is filled with water. The sea is completely made of water, it cannot be more filled! Look again at what knowledge the prophet is speaking of, the knowledge of the glory of the Lord!

The knowledge of the glory of the Lord is both a cognitive understanding and an experience. In the Old Testament the Hebrew people could describe the presence of the Lord to each other but they could also see the pillar of cloud by day or fire by night. They could go to the tabernacle or temple of God for worship. In the New Testament we have the fullness of the knowledge of the glory of God revealed to us in Jesus Christ according to Colossians 1:19. The early church was propelled in their Gospel proclamation by both letters and stories about Jesus and by their relationships with the Savior.

Today we have those same stories about God in His Word and we have the experience of His Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit is working in the Church to conform us to the image of our Savior so that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God! Let’s pray that today we will be led by the Spirit of God to proclaim the good news of who Christ is wherever we are. We can pray this prayer with confidence today – “Lord, use us to fill the earth with knowledge of your Glory!” Please join us in this prayer as you pray for WEGO and our gospel partners throughout the earth.

Join Us in Praying for Our Home Build!

Please join us this week in praying for the dining room of the new children’s home. Almost every child comes into our home malnourished. You just can’t imagine what a table full of warm food looks like through their eyes.

How You Can Pray
Pray for the conversations that will happen around our new table. Pray each bite of food will be a glimpse into Christ’s love and care for them.

Enerel – New Hope Children’s Home, Mongolia

About Enerel (second from left, in pigtails):
Enerel is one of the sweetest souls you could come across, with a depth and resolve one would seldom expect to find in a 13 year old. She and her two siblings came to New Hope Children’s Home in 2016. In the house, she leads by example in seeking the Lord daily. The younger kids seek her out for help with homework, and she can often be seen coaching them through their letters and arithmetic. Her favorite subjects in school are math, literature and sports. At home she loves to read, but lately has been enjoying cooking. She’s hoping to funnel the culinary skills she develops into a career someday.

How You Can Pray:
1) Pray that God would be with the USA.
2) Pray that God would give her good health and help her to study well.
3) Pray that God would help her father and her family.
